Feeling Inadequate?

Feeling Inadequate?

  • Job said, “I am not at ease, nor am I quiet, And I am not at rest, but turmoil comes” (Job 3:26).

  • Moses said, “Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue” (Exodus 4:10).

  • Gideon said, “O Lord, how am I to deliver Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house” (Judges 6:14–15).

  • Ten spies said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are too strong for us” (Numbers 13:31).

  • David said, “But I am a worm and not a man, a reproach of men and despised by the people” (Psalm 22:6).

  • Elijah said, “It is enough; now, O Lord, take my life, for I am not better than my fathers” (1 Kings 19:4).

  • Isaiah said, “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips” (Isaiah 6:5).

Remember this life-enriching truth: “Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant” (2 Corinthians. 3:5–6a).

Praise the Lord for the gift of His amazing all-sufficient grace toward us!
