Sunday, we learned how we can make MORE disciples of Jesus Christ and Paul reminded us that he was committed to make himself “a slave to all, so that I may win more” (1 Corinthians 9:19).
I presented four biblical ways to win more and used Paul’s word M.O.R.E. to spell out these truths:
Staying Centered
It is so easy to get sidetracked and forget what really matters in life. Our time and lives are full of activities, responsibilities, schedules, and the plethora of endless information that can distract and overwhelm us from staying centered on what keeps us centered.
The gospel of Jesus Christ keeps us centered. It is the good news about the Person and work of Jesus Christ on our behalf and how it transforms every aspect of our life.
Vital Questions to Ask
Recently, I had someone ask me how they could communicate the gospel truth to a few people who had misunderstandings about Christianity yet showed an interest in knowing more.
I suggested sending them the following questions that are designed to prompt a search for ultimate answers about the truth of the gospel. Maybe you know someone who is showing interest and needs to do some more digging and consider the answers to these questions.
A Gospel Ministry Tool Box
As disciples of Christ, we are called to be “fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19), not keepers of aquariums. We are to “always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence” (1 Peter 3:15), and like Paul, to ask the Lord to help us “make it clear in the way I ought to speak” (Colossians 4:4).
As we think about our diverse and growing community, here are some practical tools to help us all be better prepared for gospel conversations with:

How to Preach Jesus
by Pastor Jeff
God has not left us in the dark about how we communicate the most life-changing, destiny-determining, soul-inspiring, truth-proclaiming, joy-generating, hope-assuring, and hell-defying message of the gospel.
We tend to rely upon strategies and practical how-to’s (which are helpful), but God typically provides foundational truths and practices that allow His power to be put on public display.
This week, from Colossians 4:2–6 we learned three practical truths about God’s strategy for preaching Jesus:
Preach What About Jesus?
Whatever we preach, it better be the right message (the gospel) about the right Person (Jesus Christ) as it will determine your eternal destiny. Believing in the wrong message will leave you “accursed” (Galatians 1:6-9) and in the wrong Person will leave you “deceived” (2 Corinthians 11:2-4).
We must preach the only good news story about Jesus Christ that exists since it is the only message that can forgive the sin that condemns everyone to death (Romans 6:23 - physically, spiritually, eternally).
Why Preach Jesus
To The End
by Max Dalrymple, Student Ministry Director
On the cross, Jesus declared three words that completely changed our eternity. “It is finished.” The redemptive work of Christ on the cross is done! He has been raised to life, removing the sting of death for those of us who know Christ, removing our sin as far as the east is from the west! Believer, hear the joyous news that there is no longer any condemnation for those of us who are in Christ Jesus! And now, we have news to share, because not only has God saved us, but He freely offers salvation to anyone who will repent and believe the good news that He has died for sinners and risen again to give new life! (John 3:16, Rom 10:9-13)
